Sonic Temple is the fourth studio album by The Cult, released in 1989. Continuing in the hard rock direction introduced on their previous album, Sonic Temple features some of the band’s most popular songs including Fire Woman, Sun King, Edie and Sweet Soul Sister. Billboard estimates that the album has sold over 1.5 million copies in the United States and the RIAA certified it platinum in January 1990 for 1 million sales, it has sold 429,000 copies since according to Nielsen. The albums tracks have generated 17 million on-demand streams. Three decades later, The band is celebrating the 30th Anniversary by reissuing September 13, 2019 a Double LP of the album plus a Sonic Temple Limited 30th Anniversary Edition Box Set available at The Sound Of Vinyl.
