“Meat Light: The Uncle Meat Project/Objects” a 3-CD compilation set of Frank Zappa Uncle Meat recordings released November 4, 2016. It is project/object #5 in a series of 40th Anniversary FZ Audio Documentaries. A milestone originally released Uncle Meat is the landmark where The Mothers of Invention reached the highest point, but also the time when the project termination phase began. The original double LP set was recorded between October 1967 and February 1968. It was released on April 1969, the following summer Zappa would have disbanded the MOI. In the liner notes Frank emphasizes on technology and studio procedures he was particularly fond of. “The music on this album was recorded over a period of 5 months from October 1967 to February 1968. Things that sound like a full orchestra were carefully assembled, track by track through a procedure known as overdubbing. -FZ
